Kyoto Katsu at Lot 418, Level 4 of Suria KLCC is selling a gyukatsu tasting set for two from RM99.90. The kitchen's own specials page puts Wagyu, Angus and grain-fed beef on one plate, with free-flow rice, cabbage, torijiru and tea. EverydayOnSales dated the launch 11 September 2026. There is still no printed end date, so read the board at the counter before you drag someone across town for it.
The restaurant opened on this floor in early 2025. The sampler is the dated reason to write it now. Same lot, same 10:00 to 22:00 hours as the mall.
Three beefs, then the hot plate
Gyukatsu here is striploin in panko, fried rare, then finished at the table. Eat Drink KL shot that method when the shop opened: a wire rack over a tray, cabbage in a heap, brown rice, a small bowl of sauce, rock salt, wasabi, ponzu. The sampler uses the same kit for three grades of beef instead of one steak. You cook the last bit yourself on the small iron plate so the crust stays loud and the centre stays pink if you want it that way.
The official card says tasting sets for two persons, from RM99.90. Free-flow rice, cabbage, torijiru and tea. Torijiru is the chicken soup they pour with the set, not a side you hunt for. Official copy spells it torijiru. Some menus elsewhere write tonjiru. At this lot, go with what is printed on their specials tile.
If you do not want beef, the regular board still has chicken, fish, prawn and Japanese curry from RM19.90++. Weekday lunch 12:00 to 15:00 is a cheaper katsu set with the same free-flow rice, cabbage, soup and ocha. That lunch is not the sampler.
Level 4, Ramlee Entrance, no surprise hours
Lot 418 sits on Level 4 of Suria KLCC, Persiaran Petronas, 50088. Phone 016-217 6880. Email moshimoshi@kyotokatsu.com. Hours are 10:00 to 22:00 daily, same as the shopping centre. The kitchen tells Grab drivers to use the Ramlee Entrance rather than the park side.
Level 4 is the floor with NITORI at Lot 431, a few doors of household goods away. If half the table wants the sampler and half wants a duvet, that is a workable split. Petrosains is also on L4. It still closes many Mondays. Confirm on petrosains.com.my if you are stacking a science centre morning onto lunch.
The same gyukatsu sampler is listed for the IOI City Mall lot. This page is the KLCC one. Pavilion and TRX are other malls. Do not treat them as this homepage.
EverydayOnSales also mentioned a lucky draw for a year of chicken katsu, sourced from a Facebook post. That claim is not on the official specials page I fetched. I am not repeating the draw as fact until Kyoto Katsu prints it on kyotokatsu.com.
The room is wood, noren, crane screens. You can see the pass from the queue. It is a katsu shop under the towers, not a hotel teppanyaki. Pay in ringgit. Walk out toward Taman KLCC if you need air, or stay in 阳光广场 until 22:00.
