MPYO A Symphonic Splendour at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, 28 October 2026

Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra plays A Symphonic Splendour on Wednesday 28 Oktober 2026 at 8:00pm. The hall is Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS on Level 2 of Tower Two, inside Menara Berkembar PETRONAS, 国油双峰塔. You reach it through Suria KLCC, 阳光广场, or straight off KLCC LRT. Gerard Salonga conducts. MPO cellist Dylan Lee Mihn Tang is the soloist.

This is a Wednesday in the towers, not a mall atrium and not Ombak. Galeri PETRONAS left Suria in July 2026. The youth orchestra is the cheaper DFP night this week. Adult seats are RM50 and RM100. Suites are RM150 a seat. The student price printed on the official banner is RM25, government schools and public universities only, box office with a student ID.

The four works, with a 20-minute break

The MPO season page lists Shostakovich Festive Overture, then Tchaikovsky Variations on a Rococo Theme with Dylan Lee. Interval is 20 minutes. After the break: Tchaikovsky Swan Lake Waltz, then Khachaturian Spartacus Suite No. 2. AAPPAC's Q4 DFP round-up, published for October to December 2026, repeats that same order and the same 28 October date. Trust the MPO page for prices. Trust AAPPAC as the second listing, not as a ticket shop.

Dylan Lee is billed as an MPO cellist, not an MPYO student. That is the guest seat in the first half. The rest of the night is the youth orchestra under Salonga. The official copy calls the programme four works. It is four works. Do not expect a concerto after Spartacus. The hall does not print a total running time on this page, only the 20-minute interval in the middle.

Tickets, dress, and the walk from the mall

Buy at the TicketSearch event 167396, linked from mpo.com.my/season-2026/a-symphonic-splendour. Online checkout adds RM5 a ticket and 3.5% on the payment. Student RM25 is box office only. Discounts do not stack. Children under 8 are not allowed in the hall. Dress is smart casual. The printed no-list is torn jeans, shorts, collarless t-shirts, sweatshirts, singlets, sports attire, slippers and flip-flops.

A wheelchair ticket includes a companion seat. Call the box office on 03 2331 7007 or email contactus@dfp.com.my for that booking. The hall is in Tower Two, Level 2. From KLCC LRT it is the same concourse as the mall. After 8pm the Esplanade fountain on Taman KLCC is still running its light-and-sound sets. If you want dinner in 阳光广场 first, leave time. The hall does not wait, and this is a Wednesday, not the usual Saturday 8pm local night.

RM50 is the lowest adult DFP seat I have seen printed this month. Jaclyn Victor on 17 October sat at RM249 and up. Alena Murang on 31 October starts at RM199. If you have a government-school or public-university ID, the RM25 counter price is the reason to go in person rather than click Buy Now. I would not assume leftover RM50s at 7:30pm on the night. Youth orchestra nights still fill the cheaper blocks.

Visit Malaysia 2026 is printed as a strategic partner on the banner. That logo does not change the ticket math. Pay in ringgit. Walk out toward Taman KLCC if you want air after the Khachaturian, or stay in the mall until 22:00.
